Information on the Synnovis Cyber Attack
On Monday 3 June, Synnovis, a provider of lab services, was the victim of a ransomware cyber attack.
This is having a significant impact on the delivery of services at Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts and primary care services in south east London.
As a result of the attack, the labaratory is currently unable to accept any non-urgent samples. We have been asked to cancel all of our blood test appointments until the end of July. We are unable to print or submit requests for any non-urgent samples at this time. The phlebotomy clinics at Gracefield Gardens, Tessa Jowell Health Centre and Guy's Hospital are closed for routine bloods until further notice.
All GP practices in Lambeth have now moved to an interim test request system in which we are only allowed to submit clinically urgent requests.
NHS England has deployed a cyber incident response team, which is working round the clock to support Synnovis and provide emergency guidance, as well as coordinating with health services across the capital to minimise disruption to patient care.
