Now the default method for receiving practice notifications

We want to let our patients know about an important update regarding how you receive messages from our practice.

If you have the NHS App installed on your phone and have notifications enabled, you will now receive practice messages through the NHS App as the default option.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • If you have the NHS App and notifications enabled, messages from our practice will be sent directly to the app instead of by SMS.
  • You will be able to access these messages within the NHS App.
  • This change helps the NHS save costs, as messages sent via the NHS App are free, whereas SMS messages incur a charge.

What If I Don’t Have the NHS App or Notifications Enabled?

  • If you do not have the NHS App installed or notifications switched on, you will continue to receive messages via SMS as usual.
  • If a message sent via the NHS App is not opened within 24 hours, our system will automatically send it to you via SMS instead.

Can I Turn Off NHS App Notifications?

Yes! If you prefer to receive messages via SMS instead of the NHS App, you can disable notifications within the app settings. Once you do this, messages will be sent to you via text instead.

How Can I Ensure I Receive Messages Promptly?

  • Keep notifications for the NHS App turned on to receive important updates instantly.
  • Check your NHS App regularly for messages from the practice.
  • If you prefer SMS, turn off notifications for the NHS App in your settings.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping the NHS improve communication while saving costs. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the practice for more information.
